A Tour around the City of Liverpool

 Hello, my fellow reader,

The day started with me waking up at 9:00 in the morning to get ready to meet my director, who was in charge of helping us find our way around the city and the university, but most importantly, making us feel at home the moment we arrived in Liverpool. From our accommodation building, we started to walk around the neighborhood, by the way, is a nice and kind neighborhood that is quiet but has everything one needs within a short walking distance. We later found ourselves entering what would feel like a forest trail because we were heading to a park called Festival Gardens. Here is the entry to the park.

It has a feel of entering Narnia

Festival Gardens was made in the late 1900s. The creator wanted to show art and different cultures from around the world and everyone was able to enter the park. There were also places for kids to play and can have just as much fun as the adults. This place was high up with musical concerts and it was a place where people can have fun but throughout the year Festival Gardens started to become less and less of a place where people can have fun. It became empty until a buyer was able to buy a part of the land to show the history of the Festival Gardens us to be. There is still a majority of the land that is closed to the community because there still needs to be a buyer who is able to buy the whole land.

Among the playground for kids, we decided to take a group photo.

We then walked until we enter Car Park Mersey Road- Otterspool. We walked along the river which is connected to the sea and the people who would sail the river would have to be careful with the tide. When we got there the river was already at its high tide capacity. Also, when one would look to their right, that is the way into Ireland and if one looks to their left, it is the way to go deeper into England.

Walking along the Riverside we ended up going into the center of the park where there are more people walking their dogs, sitting at the bench having ice cream, and people doing their morning run. One thing that was a complete culture shock was when I would see dogs walking ahead of their owners. The dog owners would not have their dogs on their leash and the dogs would not bark at other people but would rather stay at their owner's side. Back in the U.S people, there are rules where it is mandatory to have dogs on a leash and in the U.K the dogs are walking around the park happily. I found it completely funny and cool because it shows how well train dogs in this side of the country are compared to dogs in the U.S.

After a walk around the different parks with amazing views, we were able to rest our feet by taking a bus to Liverpool One. This place is more into the city of  Liverpool and it is filled with many rich-looking restaurants, bars, and most importantly, in my opinion, malls. Liverpool One is filled with tourists looking at historical sites and going into the biggest mall I have ever seen. While I was taking pictures from the second level of the bus I was saying to myself "I found myself", this place is where I see myself going when I need a different place to explore. It had everything that made me, me. It's a feeling unexplainable because it is a feeling that only one would know about themselves. I was very happy entering Liverpool One.

This is like the Red Stairs in NYC. It is a place where people can eat their lunch or chat with their friends.

Overall, this day had been an amazing day because I learned how to take the bus around the city and back to my accommodation building. I also got to see what it is like in the city and learned about the historical parks. It was a day of a lot of walking and taking many pictures of beautiful sites.

Until next time my fellow reader.
