Taking a Tour around the first half of Liverpool Hope University

 Hello, my fellow readers,

Having to wake up at 6:30 in the morning to be able to take the 8:15am shuttle bus is not fun after a long day of walking, but what is a long-distance walk when I have never been to England before. I can deal with a few soreness of the legs and back :) Anyway, after getting dressed and taking the shuttle to Gateway Building we ate breakfast in the cafeteria. I could not believe how big the cafeteria was and the many spaces that were available for a Starbucks coffee stand, its own shop store where students can buy snacks and toiletries, and an area just for staff only.

This is the entrance of the cafeteria called Fresh Hope

This is the Shop where students can bring snacks and other things back to their accommodations

This is the buffet section of the cafeteria. It has street food, Asia, and Deli. I realize while I love these food sections, Susquehanna University has more varieties of food and fewer sitting areas for students.

This is the sitting area and further down is the sitting area for staff only

This part is next to a section that is called Our Place. This section has pizza for students among other foods. Our Place is a social event for students.

This is when you would walk into the cafeteria. On the left next to the Shop is the Starbucks stand.

When we were done with our breakfast, we went to start our tour. We took a tour around the first half of campus called Hope Park. It has first years accommodations, the Sheppard- Worlock Library, Hope Park Sports, the Chaple, and inside the building of Gateway it has classes for anything that is not creative like art and theatre. The Eden building, it has classes for the School of Humanities. This is a big campus but everything is close together and it is just a matter of crossing the street from Gateway to the Eden building to be able to walk towards the library.

This is everything that is in the building of Hope park Sports

I had to take a picture in front of this beautiful building

This is the center of Hope Park. Behind it is the library, but around it is where the first-year students would live, and in the middle is where the chancellor would have his office. The lawn is where the first-year students would have their orientation. Students would call this section The Harry Potter World.

Next, is the Library. Sheppard-Worlock Library was made by two priests with different religious beliefs. They made this library to show a message of two people from different backgrounds of religions can be friends. This place was set up to learn the Catholic and Anglican religions and more.

Entrance of Sheppard-Worlock Library. It can only be opened with a student ID card.

This is a small section entering the library where on the side shelf there are books that students can read that are not school-related and students can make recommendations to have new books on the shelf.

Further down is a way to the silent room where students can go into this room and study in complete silence.

This is the second floor of the Library where there are only computers and an IT desk for any technical help.

This is a room and further down another room to the cafe and I took a picture of the sitting because there is nothing like this at Susquehanna University, especially in the library.

This is the Study Pod section of the cafe and there is a T.V. if a student needs to do a presentation for the class. It is a place not only to get coffee but to study with background noise.

This is the view that students would see as they study along the long tables. This is also the view the chancellor would see from his office.

This is the many long sitting tables around the library and it is a first come first serve the type of deal.

After the tour around Hope Park, we ended up at the Chaplin where the person in charge of the Chaplin would tell us of their service and that all religious beliefs are welcome. After we got to meet everyone we went back to our accommodations. Doing this tour, I felt happy that I was studying in a whole new country and experiencing something new. I felt that this University would help me in my theatre career because the educational system is different. The professor would work one on one with their students and would help them further their knowledge and education. On October 4th I would be touring around the Creative Campus which would be amazing because that is where the majority of my classes would be.

Until next time my fellow readers.
